Tumbled Stones
Almost any tumbled stone can be made into a simple elegant pendant or can be used as "beads" for string, in about 15 seconds!
"When I was kid beginning to be a rockhound, I fell in love with tumbled stones. I bought as many I could! Back then, in the fifties and sixties everyone tumbled stones, glued on silver and gold colored "bell caps" and sold them as pendants. They died out as people began purchasing more silver and gold jewelry. Over the past 30 years of teaching Silversmithing, students have brought in tumbled stones and asked: "What can we do with these?". "Nothing", was my standard answer. Now I can take a 35 cent tumbled stone and turn it in to $10.00 in about 30 seconds!"
